5 minutes with… Armagh I Marketing Executive Daniel Cumiskey
Tenacious marketer, Daniel Cumiskey is a man of many talents. Those who are privileged enough may even bear witness to a little beatboxing when he’s not on the clock!
He prides himself on tackling any challenge head on – both in the office and on the playing fields.
Currently in the second year of a marketing degree Daniel is enjoying putting all he’s learned into practice here on Barrack Street and after graduation intends to take his talents to the exciting land down under.
Why did you choose marketing as a career/business?
I chose to do Marketing as a career path as I found the world was heading toward a digital era. I saw an opportunity to get a job that allows me to advance my skills and to adjust to the changing times.
What are you most proud of in your career to date?
My most proud moment to date is landing a placement opportunity at Armagh I. As I’ve only started, I cant wait to see what new skills I can gain along the way.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced to date?
The biggest challenge I have faced, is learning how to properly speak to clients over the phone as this is not something I would’ve been used to.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
My most helpful advice I’ve received thus far is to do some research on a client before meeting them, understand their business and their goals, as it helps in the long run.
What do you think your best quality is?
I believe my best quality is to do with my tenacity. If I fail at something I cant leave it at that I have to continue until its deemed good.
If you could choose anything else to do, what would it be?
I would love to be a professional soccer player.
Name three things that you like doing outside of work.
Three things I enjoy outside of work is, travelling, playing Gaelic and keeping up with basketball.
Tell us about a secret skill that we don’t know you have.
I’m pretty good at beatboxing.
What is your most prized possession?
My Car – I drive a Seat Ibiza – metallic grey. I’ve had it for five years, my eye has been turned by a sweet little Audi A4 but I think I’ll have to hold out.
What is your favourite food?
Proper Italian Lasagne. Would you believe the best Lasagne I’ve ever had was in Hvar, an island of Croatia.
What is your favourite book?
Of Mice and Men
What are you currently watching?
Power on Netflix – it tells the story of James St. Patrick, an intelligent, smooth and ruthless drug dealer. I’m only on the third episode but I’m hooked.
If you were to watch a band/singer live, who would it be?
Dave (the rapper)
Dead or alive, who would you most want to meet and why?
Ryan Reynolds – He’s Cool. He’s brilliant in Dead Pool.
