Newry Chamber CEO Tony McKeown to leave role at end of summer
The Newry Chamber Board of Directors has been informed of CEO, Tony McKeown’s intention to leave his role at the end of the summer to pursue other interests.
Tony McKeown has been in the position of CEO for two years and in that time he has made a valuable contribution to the organisation.
Julie Gibbons, President of Newry Chamber said: “It is with regret that the Board of Newry Chamber accepted Tony’s resignation this week. His passion for Newry and the local area is infectious and I have no doubt that he will continue to be involved in the local business community.
“I also have no doubt that you will share with the Board, Council and Management of the Chamber in wishing him well in his future endeavours.
“Newry Chamber is a proud and strong organisation with a 200-year history. We have a full programme of events from September to December with the NI Small Business Conference, the President’s Banquet and the Chamber AGM amongst other activity, which we look forward to.
“We will be putting interim management measures in place in the short-term before we embark on a recruitment process.”
Tony McKeown added: “I would like to thank the Newry Chamber Board, Council, Members and Partners for their support over the last two years. It has been a privilege to represent such a vibrant business community across the Greater Newry region. I wish the members well in the future.”
