Family-run Farmlay Eggs Armagh offer four opportunities to join expanding workforce

A long-established Armagh eggs producer and packing company are now recruiting for several exciting opportunities.

Established in 1913, R. Thompson & Son (Armagh) Ltd – trading as Farmlay Eggs – is now owned and managed by the 4th generation of the Thompson family who continue to work to grow the business while retaining that personal approach which has ensured their customers keep coming back to the people they know and trust to meet their needs.

Operating from a modern 56,000 sq. ft. packaging and production facility in the heart of Armagh city; the company has two distinct and highly successful business divisions.

Farmlay Eggs have also developed a Pasteurised Egg division alongside their egg packing business which is producing a high quality pasteurised liquid egg, which is supplied to bakeries and food service customers.

They are inviting a number of enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join their expanding team.

The following roles are now available:

Production Line Team Leader

A highly motivated and responsible Production Line Team Leader is required to oversee the efficient operation of our egg packing lines.

This crucial role ensures the smooth flow of eggs through the packing process, maintains high standards of hygiene and safety, and leads a
team of packing operatives.

Working hours from 07:30 and 16:30 from Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required for this role and a competitive hourly rate paid.

Egg Collection Driver

Reliable and responsible Egg Collection Drivers are required to collect egg pallets from farms across Northern Ireland and deliver them to customer warehouses.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Specific hours will be discussed during the interview process.

A Valid UK driving license (Category CE) is required and Driver CPC qualification (if applicable). Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is desirable.

Warehouse Team Leader

A highly motivated and responsible Warehouse Team Leader is required to oversee the efficient operation of the warehouse.

This crucial role ensures the smooth flow of goods, maintains high hygiene and safety standards, and leads a small team of warehouse operatives.

Junior Maintenance Operative

A Junior Maintenance Operative is required to join their Engineering/Maintenance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in maintenance engineering within the food production industry, gaining valuable hands-on experience working with automated machinery, robotics, and other production systems.

Applicants should have a keen interest in engineering and maintenance, basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of tools, some practical experience in a maintenance or engineering environment (desirable but not essential), an bility to work effectively in a team and independently, good communication and interpersonal skills, take a proactive and problem-solving approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills and possess basic computer literacy.
