What was your route into the company?
I just saw the job advertised and decided to apply as I had studied accounts at school.
How long have you been involved in this type of work?
I have been in sales admin for 38 years. I started in accounts for the first two years.

Intersport Portadown.
What were your favourite subjects in school and why?
PE and Typewriting – no studying needed for these subjects.
Did you go on to university or further education and what did you study?
No
Did you always have this career in mind?
Not Sales admin, I thought it would be accounts.
What do you enjoy about it?
Meeting new salespeople, and meeting end of month targets.
What are the main skills required for it?
Having patience with the sales team, and listening to the bosses.
What would your advice be to anyone thinking of it as a career?
It is a very busy environment, but very rewarding at month end when all is invoiced and vehicles registered.
What have been some of your career highs and lows?
Highs – being rewarded by Toyota to rewards nights, they really did put on a good show with prizes and lovely food.
What would you say about the company you work for?
They have been very helpful when new systems have been brought in, and if I have any problems I can just ask and they will try their best to resolve it.
How have you changed in your role or developed yourself during your years of service?
I have had to adapt and learn many new systems during my time.
How do you relax when you’re not working?
I love walking, going for a coffee with friends and stock cars.
