Estimating Manager
MJM Marine is seeking to recruit an Estimating Manager who will manage all aspects of price build-up on projects and will manage the employees of the Company’s estimating department.
The location is office based in Newry, Co. Down with occasional travel to sites and other group offices commensurate with the requirements of the role.
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to optimise the departments functionality and inspire high-performing teams in a fast-paced, expanding company.
The duties include:
- Prepares tender returns and estimates
- Oversees the preparation of tender returns by other members of the department
- Under take off and measurements
- Undertakes subcontractor and supplier pricing analysis
- Prepares tender packages for suppliers and subcontractors
- Undertakes on-site surveys and prepares scopes of work
- Presents opportunities and risk registers as part of the tender settlement process
- Liaises with subcontractors and suppliers to maximise instances of tender success
- Undertakes subcontractor analysis
- Presents opportunities and risk registers as part of the tender settlement process
- Actively supports the development of others through shared knowledge
- Actively supports the development of others through shared knowledge
- Manages people aspects for direct and indirect reports within the team (e.g. PDRs, skills gap analysis etc..)

Quantity Surveyor
MJM Marine is a progressive, flexible and rapidly growing specialist joinery and interior fit- out contractor. The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients and due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for Quantity Surveyors to join the team at our HQ in Newry, Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will form an important part of the commercial team and have responsibility for ensuring the project contract, cost, quality and time targets are met.
Other key duties include:
- Ensure prompt and regular submission of Sub-contract payment applications to include all variations and or change orders.
- Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract.
- Prepare the forecasting and reporting of costs against value.
- Ensure the accuracy of commercial data and record keeping at site level
- Management of subcontract accounts.
- Identifying, raising, and pricing of variations/ change orders.

Contracts/Assistants Contracts Managers

The business has built a reputation for excellence and innovation by delivering major marine projects for local and global clients and due to significant growth, the opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Contracts Managers and Contracts Managers to join the team at our HQ in Newry, Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will form an important part of the Contracts Management team and have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the contract.
Other key duties include:
- Managing client relationships
- Preparing contract budget
- Providing procurement schedule and overview procurement in conjunction with the Purchasing Department
- Production of a realistic programme in conjunction with the Planning Department
- Chairing weekly project status review meeting
- Allocation of manpower
- Weekly reporting on project progress
- Ensuring effective travel and logistical arrangements in conjunction with the Logistics Department
- Managing all Contractual variances in conjunction with the Commercial Department
- Subcontractor management
- Managing site installation
- Adhering to company KPI targets
- Responsibility for the overall Contract health and safety requirements
- Providing leadership and direction to Assistant Contract Managers / Project employees
- Working on projects in numerous locations throughout the world
