Overview

Eglish Country Fry are looking for two reliable and enthusiastic Chefs / Cooks to join their friendly chip shop team.

The ideal candidates will have a background in kitchen operations and a commitment to cooking to a high standard, you will be responsible for overseeing food production from start to finish ensuring all food safety standards are met, and leading a team of kitchen staff in a fast paced environment.

Hours:

  • 40 hours per week (full-time) and a second part-time position (hours to be discussed)
  • Minimum three evening shifts including one weekend shift (Saturday/Sunday) required per week (9pm close)
  • Flexible working hours available

The Role:

  • Front of house role
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the shops’ menu and standards
  • Assist in managing kitchen operations during peak hours to ensure timely service, including managing staff when on shift
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene
  • Working as part of a social, supportive kitchen team
  • Contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Working with kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
  • Collaborate with management as required, ensuring that any problems are identified and dealt with or reported promptly to the appropriate person
  • Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety practices, and shop policies.
  • Ensure the kitchen is organised, clean, and well-maintained at all times.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Chef/cook/fryer or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, regulations and best practices.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment
