Overview
McKvr Sports are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Print and Embroidery Operative to join our production team.
In this dual-function role, you will handle high-volume garment printing and operate both single-head and multi-head embroidery machines. You will play a crucial role in ensuring all decorated apparel meets our quality standards and dispatch deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Garment Printing and Mass Production
- Execute high-volume print runs (DTF, Vinyl Print, or Heat Transfer) on various apparel types.
- Load, align, and unload garments efficiently while maintaining fast pace and low error rates.
- Mix inks, prepare transfer films, and calibrate heating/curing equipment as needed.
Embroidery Machine Operation
- Set up, program, and operate single-head and multi-head industrial embroidery machines (Ricoma, SWF and Happy Japan).
- Frame/hoop garments correctly, thread needles, and monitor tension to ensure clean stitching.
- Select appropriate backings, toppings, and needles based on fabric type and design requirements.
Quality Control and Maintenance
- Inspect finished goods for print clarity, thread tension, embroidery density, and correct logo placement.
- Perform routine daily maintenance, oiling, and basic troubleshooting on machinery.
- Identify and isolate damaged or sub-standard garments before packing.
Workflow and Stock Management
- Pick and stage plain garments according to work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist with final trimming, folding, and packing for dispatch.
Requirements and Skills
- Experience: 1+ years operating industrial printing or embroidery machinery preferred, though strong technical aptitude with a willingness to train on multi- head machines will be considered.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for alignment, colour matching, and stitching quality.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive manual tasks, and lift boxes up to 15–20 kg.
- Work Ethic: Highly reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively under pressure during peak production periods.
