Sales Consultants – Home Appliances & Stoves

Overview

Dalzells of Markethill is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and customer-focused Sales Consultants to join our busy Home Appliances & Stoves Department.

They are hiring multiple people for this role!

This is a varied sales role within an established independent business where customers are often making significant purchases for their homes. You’ll be expected to understand what the customer actually needs, recommend the right products and provide knowledgeable advice from the initial enquiry through to sale and after-sales support.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys selling, dealing with people and learning about products – someone who can build customer relationships and take ownership of the sales process.

Location: Markethill, County Armagh
Position: Permanent, Full Time and Part Time roles available
Hours: Flexible within sales team opening hours
Salary: Competitive and negotiable depending on experience
Additional Earnings: Attractive additional earning potential through manufacturer sales incentive programmes

What We’re Looking For

• Proven sales experience, ideally involving high-value products
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong customer service and relationship-building approach
• Confidence dealing with customers face-to-face, by telephone and online
• Good IT skills and confidence learning new systems
• The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and use initiative
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to customer enquiries
• The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
• Flexibility regarding working hours
• Experience within home appliances, stoves, fires, flooring, carpet or wider retail would be advantageous, but industry experience is not essential for the right person.

What matters most is proven sales ability, a positive attitude, good customer skills and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising customers on a wide range of domestic appliances, stoves and related products
• Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable products
• Dealing with enquiries face-to-face, by telephone and through online correspondence
• Processing sales and placing customer orders
• Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers
• Working closely with our warehouse, delivery and other departments
• Handling customer queries and resolving issues where required
• Managing your own customer enquiries and workload
• Developing strong product knowledge and keeping up to date with new products and technology
• The role also provides opportunities to attend manufacturer training, product launches, trade shows and industry events throughout the UK and Ireland.

Additional Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

• Home appliances, stoves, fires, flooring or carpet
• E-commerce, wholesale or tendering
• WordPress or Drupal
• eBay or Amazon marketplaces
• Merchandising and stock management
• Tradeplace, CIH/Portway, CIR or Ncompass
• Full training will be provided where appropriate.
