Armagh City Hotel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bar Supervisor to oversee our bar operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage management.

This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • To present a professional and courteous attitude, to include professional presentation of uniform and hygiene, ensuring staff are proactive in the same.
  • To assist in motivating employees in all bars through effective communication, training and development, ensuring HR procedures are followed.
  • To ensure that all tasks are completed within the allocated time frames, maintaining the standard expected of the hotel, ensuring staff are proactive in the same.
  • To ensure the bars are always fully stocked.
  • Greeting customers, having extensive knowledge of menu’s, taking orders efficiently and presenting them as requested, ensuring accurate measures are used with minimum wastage and ensuring staff are proactive in the same
  • To maximise sales and ensure prompt and accurate billing procedures.
  • To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments to ensure effective operation and guest satisfaction.
  • To attend all training, meetings, and courses to upskill and refresh food service skills
  • To ensure a high level of cleanliness in your department adhering to cleaning policies and rotas etc
  • Handling any guest queries and complaints, ensuring to record and report accurately and escalate where applicable.
  • To comply with all Safety Rules and Policies and Procedures as outlined in The Employee Handbook.

Essential Candidate

  • Previous bar experience
  • The ability to work under pressure to achieve objectives within timescales, without compromising accuracy and quality
  • Must be extremely organised, with the ability to make intelligent decisions when faced with competing priorities
  • Excellent at both verbal and written communication, with great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

Desirable Candidate

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions;

  • A formal qualification in hospitality, hotel and catering
  • Previous experience in supervising/managing a team
