Armagh City Hotel are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our dynamic team.

As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service across our restaurant, bar, deli and conference and banqueting departments. You will support the head of departments in the day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of service, training staff, and maintaining a warm and welcome atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and co-ordinate the daily operations of all Food and Beverage Outlets (restaurant, bar, deli, conference and banqueting) to ensure a smooth operation that fits the company’s standards and our renowned reputation.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is consistently delivered
  • Ensure that all team members appear appropriately and adhere to the Hotels appearance standards
  • Lead, motivate and support all food and beverage teams during shifts, ensuring all staff are well-trained and professional
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, weddings and conferences
  • Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-job training and feedback
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and hygiene standards
  • Handle guest queries, complains and speal requests efficiently and professionally
  • Assist in stock control, ordering and inventory processes
  • Contribute to team meeting and suggest improvement to service delivery and operations
  • Along with the management, ensure that all food servers have received a full induction and are all trained in relation to quality and service in line with hotel standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate a sale’s driven approach to obtaining and retaining business across all food service operations and revenue streams – identity and target sales opportunities and in conjunction with management plan their execution
  • Be pro-active in the housekeeping of our food service and public areas ensuring customer zones are well maintained and in excellent condition. Ensure to maintain a clean and productive environment that is always fit for guests.
  • Train in conjunction with and under the guidance of the GM in relation to your own department, and be open-minded to learning new elements of the operation
    Encourage a sale’s driven environment throughout all food service operations with particular emphasis on upselling to further maximise sales opportunities

Essential Candidate

  • You should have and be able to demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a food and beverage environment (hotel experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

Desirable Candidate

  • It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions;
  • Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene (at least level 2) full training will be provided
  • Experience using POS systems and managing rotas
