Armagh City Hotel are currently hiring for an Assistant Night Manager to supervise a team of night porters in the absence of the night manager, ensuring the smooth running of operational aspects of the hotel, always ensuring customer safety and satisfaction.

Shift Patterns to include mid-week and weekends. Night shifts are from 11pm to 7am.

Key Responsibilities

As an assistant night manager you will be responsible for:

  • presenting a professional and courteous attitude to include professional presentation of uniform and hygiene and ensuring that the night porters are doing the same.
  • supervising and managing a team of night porters in the absence of the night manager and to ensure that the morning staff are ready for duty.
  • being familiar with the entire computer system and being able to reconcile reports and balance them against cash received.
  • printing and distributing reports for the next day to the relevant departments.
  • ensuring all function areas are checked and set up correctly for the next day’s business.
  • attending to all customer requirements, with special emphasis on early morning calls, bar and room service.
  • servicing rooms if and when required.
  • handling customer queries and complaints, ensuring to record and report accurately and escalate where applicable.
  • regularly carrying out hygiene, security and maintenance checks, to include public areas, accommodation, floors, entrances, exits and fire exits and ensuring the latter are free from obstruction.
  • recording, reporting and resolving any hygiene, security or maintenance issues in the hotel or on the hotel grounds.
  • complying with all safety rules and policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

You should have and be able to demonstrate:

  • previous experience in a similar role within hospitality with experience in managing or supervising a team

Desirable Candidate

  • It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions;
    a formal qualification in hotel and catering preferred.
