You’ll serve food, ensure guest comfort, and assist with event setup.

Reporting to the Banqueting Manager, you will play a crucial part of ensuring guests needs are met and ensure safety standards are adhered to.

Contract: Full Time or Part Time / Permanent

Hours of Work: Shift Pattern Basis

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To report on duty well groomed, clean uniform approved by the hotel, and a clean white serving cloth.
  • To be allocated duties by function supervisor.
  • Check the menu and become familiar with it.
  • Check the station and make sure that cutlery and crockery are clean, and properly set out on the tables.
  • Serve the meal in an efficient and pleasant way.
  • Check with the customer during the meal if everything is satisfactory.
  • If there are any complaints or spillage inform the supervisor immediately.
  • Inform supervisor if there are any dietary needs required that aren’t already specified.
  • When clearing away the crockery be aware of the noise factor.
  • When meal is served check with supervisor re duties i.e. cleaning trays, putting condiments away and filling the hot plates etc.
  • To ensure the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others who may be affected by your behaviour.

Essential Candidate:

  • The ability to work under pressure to achieve objectives within timescales, without compromising accuracy and quality.
  • Must be extremely organised, with the ability to make intelligent decisions when faced with competing priorities.
  • Excellent at both verbal and written communication, with great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

Desirable Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable
