NPD Technologist

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an NPD Technologist to cover Maternity leave at Linwoods.

This role will focus on the development of products within our Health Food department.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have a strong background in nutrition and health.

NPD Technologist Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and innovate new products and processes as part of the New Product Development Team from concept to launch.
• To manage new product trials
• To compile/check/approve product specifications and labelling
• To carry out research on new food and health trends, competitors as well as new ingredients
• Attend food and trade shows
• Participate in product and ingredient benchmarking, carry out for regular recipe testing sessions & kitchen validations
• Complying with food safety, HACCP, allergen management and quality systems
• Co-operate and communicate closely with Production, Commercial, Technical, Engineering and Finance to ensure the effective and efficient running of the NPD process.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree in Food Technology/Food Science or a similar degree with an emphasis on food nutrition
• At least 1 years experience in a similar role within a FMCG capacity
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Minimum GCSE English/Maths/Science or equivalent
• Strong understanding of food science, nutrition, and ingredient functionality.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to food and nutrition regulations, claims and labelling.
• IT proficient
