Overview
Evora Hospice are currently recruiting for an Out of Hours Nurse (Bank).
As this role will involve lone working in patients’ homes, candidates must:
- Have excellent standards of nursing care.
- Be able to work on their own initiative.
- Demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills.
This is an opportunity to join a team that plays a key role in supporting the local community. If you are interested, you must:
- Be registered on part 1 of the NMC register.
- Have at least two years’ post-registration experience.
- Live within 50 minutes travelling time (measured by Google Maps) of any address within the catchment area.
Role: Out of Hours Nurse (Bank)

Contract: Type Bank
Salary Band: Equivalent to Band 5 Agenda for Change
Location: In patient homes around BT35 catchment area
Payment Details
Standard on-call payment: £100 per shift
Initial call out: Additional £60 payment
Any further call outs: Additional £20 per call out
Premiums: Payable on the £100 standard on-call element for Saturdays, Sundays, and SAHS-recognised bank holidays (as per Inpatient Unit guidelines)
Shift cancelled due to no patients: £40 (4 hours’ pay) if cancelled after 8pm
Mileage: Claimable in line with the Expenses Policy at the HMRC rate (currently 45p per mile) for all travel to and from patients’ home
