Safety Officer

Overview

Mamo Building Services have a full-time Safety Officer role available for the right candidate, based in their Armagh office, to assist our teams and maintain company commitment to their HSE management system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, and assist in the preparation of reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
• Help maintain and update health and safety records, including incident logs, training records, and safety data sheets.
• Assist in the delivery of health and safety training sessions to employees, including inductions for new staff.
• Support the monitoring of health and safety performance, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe manner.
• Assist in the identification of potential hazards and the development of strategies to mitigate risks.
• Stay up to date with current health and safety legislation and best practices to ensure the company remains compliant.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
• A basic understanding of UK / ROI health and safety regulations and legislation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A proactive and positive attitude towards learning and professional development.
• Full driving license

Experience:

• Previous experience in a construction/maintenance health and safety role or a related field is essential. We have a Health and Safety advisor on board to assist this position on our HSE deliverables
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and site inspections is desirable.
