Ann’s Home Care are currently seeking to hire a Team Leader. Applicants will be responsible to the locality care manager and be located across Armagh, Keady and Markethill.

The applicants core role will be to work as part of a team responsible for the provision of a high quality service to
service users in their own homes by monitoring the quality of care. This will require sufficient flexibility to work unsociable hours if required.

Team Leader key tasks and duties:

  • To actively participate and supervise in the delivery of care to service users to ensure that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met whilst ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect.
  • To promote best practice and accountability through spot checks and unplanned staff supervisions
  • To monitor the quality of care delivered to service users.
  • To be responsible for the preparation, implementation, review and update of all service users care plans.
  • To uphold and promote the highest standards of professional practice amongst carers whilst promoting the values and mission of Ann’s Home Care.
  • To maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with company policy.
  • To conduct risk assessments in service users’ home both on an annual and an as and when required basis.
  • Assist in the implementation of new care packages ensuring that care plans are placed within service users’ home within two days of acceptance of care package and that all scheduled carers have been introduced and shadowed into the call.
  • Assist in the induction of new care workers ensuring all relevant paperwork completed.
  • Liaise with District Nurses/Key Workers and clients’ next of kin.
  • Assist in training programmes.
  • Provide accurate and professional verbal and written reports of all complaints, accidents and incidents in clients’ homes.
  • To attend periodic quality meetings and staff meetings and when appropriate and to be available for one to one sessions as agreed.
  • To assist care managers in rota management.
  • Assist in the Company’s Quality Control programme.
  • Participate in the Company’s out of hour’s telephone rota if required.
  • To undertake care work activities as and when required.
  • Undertake a probationary period of 6 months.

Person specification:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years in health and social care.
  • Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent or be willing to work towards it.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate an empathy and understanding towards the needs of clients and their families.
  • The ability to provide leadership, support and supervision to a team.
