Become a champion of the Titanic Story with Belfast city center role

Located beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock – the very place where Titanic was designed, built and launched, Titanic Belfast tells the story of Titanic from her conception, through her construction and launch, to her maiden voyage and subsequent place in history. The Titanic Experience is the world’s most authentic retelling of the iconic story. The self-guided tour extends over nine interactive galleries where you discover the sights, sounds, smells and stories of the ship, as well as the people and city that made her.

2023 is a particularly exciting year for Titanic Belfast – a significant gallery refresh project has recently been completed which is its most significant investment since opening in 2012 and has resulted in a reimagined experience for visitors to the venue.

To maximise this positive momentum, the organisation is seeking an exceptional candidate to join its Senior Executive Team as Head of Visitor Attraction. The Head of Visitor Attraction will manage and develop the Visitor Attraction Department with an emphasis on sharing the heritage of the story of Titanic, creating authentic customer experiences and exceptional customer engagement which will maintain Titanic Belfast as one of the World’s Leading Visitor Attractions.

The Head of Visitor Attraction will be a champion of the Titanic Story and will work with the wider Visitor Attraction Team to ensure the guest experience is aligned with the heritage and values of both the collection of artefacts and stories. Their responsibility encompasses the emotional and physical journey of the guest and all the elements which influence this. It’s also key that the Head of Visitor Attraction builds strong relationships with external partners such as education providers, accessibility groups, Titanic groups and historians to ensure that offerings meet expectations into the future.

The Head of Visitor Attraction will naturally flex between strategic and operational delivery and will have at least 3 years’ experience at a senior management level within a visitor attraction, museum or arts venue. They will have proven experience of managing a team day-to-day and in the development and implementation of high-quality customer experiences within a commercial environment such as a visitor attraction or a museum. It’s also essential that they have experience of managing budgets and in setting and achieving customer service KPIs.

The role offers an attractive remuneration package and the truly rare opportunity to join a dynamic senior management team with responsibility for a world leading attraction and key destination for tourists to Ireland.
