Go Coffee’s ‘vivacious’ Rebecca Craig is already climbing the career ladder

Within just a few short months, Go Coffee‘s Rebecca Craig has her foot firmly planted on the next rung of the career ladder. Having recently secured a promotion into a Supervisory role, the always-up-for-a-challenge Rebecca continues to focus on ways to add value to the company.

We put a few questions to Rebecca to find out a bit more about her new role:

Why did you chose to be a barista?

I work really well with people and given the huge growth of the coffee industry, it seemed like the excellent fit for me. It is a fast moving environment that combines perfectly with my vibrant, energetic personality.

What are you most proud of in your employment to date?

I have recently been promoted to Supervisor within a few months of being appointed.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

I love the challenge of learning new skills. I always enjoyed learning about the different aspects of marketing on my business course, but now I find I am putting those attributes effectively into practice alongside my inherent selling skills, which I am actually thrilled about. I have been presented with the opportunity to take on a number of managerial roles, which I like to
think, by doing so I am adding real value to the company.

What has been the biggest challenge in your job?

Working the early shifts, but I believe I have adapted extremely well.

What is the most helpful advice that you have been given?

As cliched as it is, be yourself…

If you could choose anything else to do, what would it be?

Some role working with animals. From a young age, I have always had a great interest in and love of, every kind of animal. In actual fact, for a large part of my school life, I desperately wanted to be a Vet.

What do you think your best quality is?

My vivacious personality. I am comfortable engaging with and working with all types of people from different backgrounds across many levels.

Name three things that you like doing outside of work…

Socialising, traveling and hiking/exploring with my dog.

Tell us about a secret skill that we don’t know you have.

Surprisingly, I am quite a good knitter! Maybe that’s where I learnt my precision and patience from.

What is your most prized possession?

Bailey, my black Labrador.

What is your favourite food (or coffee)?

I adore pretty much all types of Italian food, but have a real weakness for a spicy Cajun Chicken Fettuccine. Of course, I cannot forget about Vanilla Lattes (I have one every morning in work).

What are you currently watching?

The latest David Attenborough documentary on the BBC, ‘Wild Isles’.

Dead or alive, who would you most want to meet and why?

Marilyn Monroe, an enduring icon for women for many generations.
