Almost 300 jobs could be created after planning permission was granted for a £20m warehouse distribution centre at Nutts Corner.

Nutts Corner Area Developments announced that planning had been successfully obtained for the ambitious development which includes the construction of a storage and distribution warehouse, ancillary workshop, parking facilities, landscaping, designated area for heavy goods vehicles and 68 docking bays.

Behind the proposals is developer Tamar Selby Ltd, which is owned by Dromore businessman, Derek Keys of Euro Auctions.

Councillors were informed that the developer sees this proposal as a ‘significant storage and distribution project, which will have a positive long-term impact on the local and regional economy.’

The development is expected to create 90-100 jobs in the construction phase and up to 290 jobs in distribution.

In an online statement, Principle at Nutts Corner Enterprise Park, Simon Hamill said: “Alliance Councillor, Tom Campbell recommended approving the application, which was seconded by DUP’s Jeannie Archibald-Brown. After voting on the matter, planning permission was unanimously granted.
