Due to continuing expansion, Hewitt Meats are recruiting for a Quality Manager to join their growing team.

Job Title: Quality Manager

Contract: Full Time (Monday to Friday) / Permanent – Hours discussed at interview

Salary: Discussed at interview

Role:

  • Primary responsibility for Food Safety and Quality Systems for the site and throughout the supply chain to
    customers and consumers.
  •  Development, implementation and monitoring of the Food Safety Management System including HACCP and
    SOPs.
  • Compliance with legislation including BRC, Board Bia, Red Tractor and retailer/customer standards.
  • Conduct internal audits including pre-operation hygiene audits and liaise with management team on the
    results.
  • Provide technical support to QA, production and commercial as and when required.
  •  Lead all audits including BRC, Board Bia and Veterinary audits.
  • Daily quality control checks.
  • Prepare daily laboratory samples.
  • Ensure correct technical training programs are adhered to for all departments.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of a level 3 qualification in a Food Science related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years technical experience in red meat manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional delivery of food legislation and GFSI Standards.
  • Show comprehensive knowledge of auditing, quality management techniques including HACCP, Process
    Control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, being able to execute plans efficiently.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable change initiatives and results.
  • Computer software skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skill.

Hewitt Meats supply hand selected top-quality beef across the UK and Europe. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of quality in the beef we supply to all of our customers.

We currently employ 100 people in our modern state of the art facility situated near Loughgall in County Armagh. We process 400 tonnes of beef per week to various customer specifications. Our quality guarantee is that all the meat processed by us has been personally selected by our trained procurement staff.
